Rose of Sharon

This week has gone by so fast. We had had so much rain last month, the flowers all started blooming at once it seemed. Our Rose of Sharon bush in the back yard was all green leaves one day, then all blooms the next! Took a quick photo of a representative specimen, and immediately it was like the "rain faucet" shut off for the next week. All the flowers began to look a little tired. Then today it rained a little, tomorrow maybe more.

Will be traveling the highways of the Great Western United States next week, but when I return I expect to have lots of photos and blog entries to report.

Hope you are well, and thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hi Kairi-Linda!
Good to hear from you again. I had a great reply to your question re my camera, but Blogger messed up and lost the message. So I am trying again.

the camera I use the most is a Nikon D80 SLR w/ 10 megapixels. I had upgraded a few years ago from the D70, and have not been sorry. Nikon has the D40, D50, and now the D60 which have newer features and a somewhat lower price. If I were buying one today, I would probably choose the D60. Looks nice. Some "camera buddies" swear by the Canon EOS series camera. That's a real good choice from what I have seen of the results!

For travel, when large camera bags stuffed with accessories just won't work, I use a Casio Exilim 7 megapixel point-and-shoot. It takes pretty good pictures and I have not had any trouble with it. Nikon makes a Coolpix that would probably be a better choice, but I have what I have for now.

I used to shoot with a Konica Minolta Z5, which I loved (small, lightweight, great zoom and sharp photos!) but it broke last year when I broke my leg on Enchanted Rock. I miss it. I have a KM D200 but I rarely use it.

Hope this helps, and thanks so much for asking my opinion. It means a lot. Write back and let me know what you decide, I'd be interested in knowing. And thanks for visiting the 'blog! I always enjoy your photos and postings, and I can't wait to see the photos from your new camera.
