Peek-a-Boo, the bumblebee and the wildflower

Another short post from my walk last weekend around Town & Country park. I had just finished talking to a wonderful lady named Deanna about Mikael Behrens and his Birding on Broadmeade weblog, and was continuing down the trail, when I saw a large bumblebee land behind a large yellow wildflower.

I got the camera ready, and slowly crept up to the flower as close as I could get without scaring the insect away, and waited for it to come around to the face of the flower. It took a few minutes for the bee to move around to the front, but eventually it did, and I have the photo to prove it!

This weekend I will get some photos of the Texas Wildlife Expo up. I hope you will enjoy them.

Best regards,
Mike Z

  1. Sometimes it seems that insects recognize cameras and brush us off as paparazzi, doesn't it, Mike? Your persistence paid off!

Finding the Birding on Broadmeade blog made me very happy, too.

  2. Yes, it did pay off! Was kinda proud of myself for being patient...
Micheal has told me he'll email me for the next monthly birding walk through the neighborhood. I can't wait to take the binoculars and the camera and finally see some of the birds he photographs!

  5. Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for thinking of me and wondering how I am! I was just telling Jan today that I have been remiss in posting. But, I have not forgotten photography! The new job has really changed how I travel, work, and even think. I know, poor excuse, but it's all I have. <:-(

I do have some photos that I will post this week. Kid photos from Thanksgiving, and tourist photos from Chizen Niza (hope that's how it's spelled) and Cozumel. Hope you'll like them.

Jan and I are going to see the Secret Life of Bees now, and I'll get some up as soon as we get back.

    Promise!

    Best regards,
    Mike Z

  7. Hi Mike, Great to hear from you and know that you and Jan and family are all OK. :) Can't wait to see the photos of Mexico and everything else! I haven't been blogging much lately either but I did start a you tube channel and uploaded some new videos of Paul and I playing. Check it out if you want a laugh. Cheers!
